Are you passionate about enabling computers to understand natural
language? Then Microsoft's Natural Language Group is the right place
for you!
We are seeking a highly qualified and energetic linguist for Japanese
computational morphology. NLG has been developing high level NL-based
products such as grammar checkers, auto-language-detection, etc.
Japanese is one of the challenging languages for which NLG has been
providing NL solutions.
The primary task for this position is to enhance and expand Japanese
morpho-syntax rules in accordance with the overall architecture of the
Microsoft Natural Language Understanding system. Other
responsibilities include support for lexical information acquisition
and maintenance and support for training data creation. Native
proficiency of Japanese language and an advanced degree in
Linguistics, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline are
required. Other qualifications include, knowledge of Computational
Linguistics in particular computational morphology, knowledge of
statistical Natural Language Processing, high level knowledge of
Japanese morphology and lexicography. Programming language experience
and experience in relevant research/commercial R&D projects is
recommended.
