Subject:  World Englishes Conference: Final Call


The 8th conference of the International Association of World Englishes
is hosted by Potchefstroom University, South Africa, on 29 November - 1
December 2001.

The conference theme is "The globalisation and localisation of
Englishes: partners or adversaries?"

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 31 August.  Abstracts should
be submitted to the Programme Organiser, Bertus van Rooy at
nffajvr at puknet.puk.ac.za

Full detail on the conference, registration, the venue, format for the
submission of the abstract, accommodation and other matters can be
obtained at www.puk.ac.za/iawe, the conference website.
