The attached advertisement is for a studentship available at the University of
Brighton. One of the possible areas is Language Engineering at the
Information Technology Research Institute, including document generation;
dialogue; lexicons; natural language interfaces; information extraction. For

Please note that the closing date for initial applications, which should
include a CV, a short (one-page) description of your proposed research project
and the names and addresses of two referees, is 13th January 2002.
The University of Brighton has a studentship available for a PhD in
Information Technology. The studentship is for three years and includes fees
and a stipend of £9,000 per annum. Applicants should have a good honours
degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (e.g. Computer Science,
Mathematics, Computational Linguistics, Library & Information Science) or be
expecting to achieve this, if final year students. Students may study in any
