SUPPORT FOR LINGUISTIC GRADUATE STUDENTS:
OPPORTUNITIES AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY

The Purdue University Linguistics Program announces graduate student
opportunities in the area of sign language linguistics.  The Program as
a whole consists of faculty in areas covering a wide range of linguistic
areas, including phonology, syntax, semantics, discourse,
sociolinguistics, as well as historical and anthropological linguistics.
The research of two of the fourteen faculty members focus primarily on
sign languages. Their areas of interest are sign language phonology and
syntax using a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives.

The program grants degrees at the Masters and Doctoral levels. Funding
possibilities are available for qualified students in the form of
Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships.  Deaf applicants
are especially encouraged to apply.
