Professor of English as a Second Language

The Department of Languages, Linguistics and Translation at Laval
University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position
as professor of English as a second language. Starting date: August 1,
2001.

Hiring procedure and salary are determined by the current collective
agreement between Laval University and the faculty union.

Description of duties:

Teaching English as a second language at the undergraduate level in
the English Studies and the Teacher Education programs in the areas of
composition and either English grammar or ESL testing and assessment.

Teaching at the graduate level and research in linguistics or applied
linguistics.


Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in linguistics, applied linguistics or other related field.
- Experience in teaching ESL composition, preferably at the university
level.
- Expertise in English grammar or ESL testing and assessment.
- Relevant research and publications.
- Native speaker ability in English.
- Functional knowledge of French.
