Subject: The Project LIQUID - Lang Independent Querying for Info Discovery
The information about project LIQUID:
The LIQUID project (Language Independent Querying for Information
Discovery), which is funded by the DG INFSO of the European Commission, is
part of the Key Action III "Multimedia Contents and Tools" of the IST
Program. Key Action III will develop tools to manage, spread, retrieve and
interchange digital content. The main objective of LIQUID is the
implementation of a cost-effective strategy to search and retrieve
information in a multilingual text database.
The project starts in January 2001 and ends in December 2002.

Second Autumn Intensive Course on the 'Grammar of Scenes and Scenarios'
(GSS)
The Institute for General Linguistics and Language Typology (U Munich)
invites people interested in the framework of Cognitive Typology resp.
the 'Grammar of Scenes and Scenarios' (GSS) to participate in the Second
Autumn Intensive Course (crash course) that this time concentrates on
Pragmasyntax as the syntactic component of this framework.
