Subject: Postdoctoral position for speech researcher in Dublin, Ireland
A postdoctoral research post is available from September 2001 working
together with Dr Fred Cummins and several graduate students on the
development of open source speech tools to facilitate the rapid
development of text-to-speech systems in novel languages. The position
requires excellent computational skills, a familiarity with speech
technology and prosody and a strong creative streak. A focus of the
research will be developing prosodic models for synthesis in a range
of very different languages. A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Linguistics,
Speech Science or similar is required. Initial funding is for two
calendar years. The post is in the Department of Computer Science in
University College Dublin, Ireland. Further information from
