LINGUISTICS AT SCHOOL: WHY ARE THE BRITISH SUCH POOR LANGUAGE LEARNERS?
An open session organised by the Education Committee of the Linguistics
Association of Great Britain (LAGB). The session is part of the LAGB
Autumn Meeting held at the University of Reading, UK, on 4-6 September
2001.
The session will be held at 2.00-4.00 p.m. on Wednesday, 5 September 2001.

Anyone professionally interested in modern language learning/teaching and
ways in which linguists can contribute to an improvement of the situation
is invited to attend. Non-LAGB members are welcome. There is no
registration fee but the organisers would be grateful if non-LAGB members
could let them know if they are planning to attend. Please contact Ewa
Jaworska (ewa at essex.ac.uk), from whom further information about the
session may also be obtained.
