We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Dear List-readers,
I am working on the development of dn/dl (or tl/tn) consonant clusters in
syllable codas (in Icelandic).
Since such clusters in coda position seem to be rather rare, I would be
grateful to anyone who could provide information or point to literature on
any language where these clusters are found (even if the language you know
of has such clusters as heterosyllabic sequences).
I will post a summary of the answers if I find that there is enough
interest in the subject.

Subject: Instrumental Analysis of Tone
Greetings! I'm trying to find any information about quantitative studies
done on tone and tonal languages. In particular, I am looking for
instrumental analysis of tone/stress with regard to length, amplitude, and
pitch. Any studies with physical readouts of amplitude numbers, pitch
printouts, contour readouts would be helpful. I am focusing on the following
languages/language families: Papiamentu, other West African Creoles, Bantu,
Niger-Kordofanian, Kwa, Ewe, and Yoruba. However, if you know of studies
like this about any language, it would be very valuable. I'll summarize and
post any replies I receive.
Thanks for your time,
