Subject: Talking drums
Dear colleagues,
several years ago, I listened to a very good recording on talking drums
in Africa, expecially in the Kongo area. It gave many examples,
explained tonal languages and the principles used in order to make
drummed words and phrases distiguishable.
I've been trying in vain to either locate this recording or other find a
similar one that could be used in the classroom. Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance, regards,
Elke Hentschel

Subject: relative string frequency for author identification
Hello,
I am working on programmatically (perl) instantiating a scalable
methodology for using relative string frequency to make "profiles" for
use in author identification. I already have something working to
generate results, but I am having trouble finding references and other
sources of people trying similar tasks, so I can improve my
approach. I kindly request readers send me their pointers or
references about this subject matter. Better yet, if anyone would like
to see it first hand or discuss it I welcome the interaction.
