Dear language enthusiast
There is a new free online application: our Word Formation Browser for
German, based on a dictionary of 170'000 lexemes.
See for yourself at http://www.canoo.net and explore information that
was never available before in that form: visualization and extensive
browsing
of German word formation dependencies within a comprehensive
dictionary.
The Word Formation Browser uses a revolutionary Ultra Light Client
technology that is particularly suited for dictionary presentation over
a network: the
data stays on the server while the end user is offered a sophisticated
GUI simulating
a full blown stand-alone windows-based application, overcoming the
limitations
of HTML.
The Ultra Light Client technology is available at
http://www.canoo.com/ulc
Check it out and see for yourself !
Kind Regards
Marc Domenig
p.s.: the standard version of Ultra Light Client does not run on
the Macintosh because the Mac OS 9.x or lower does not support Java 2.0.
A trial version of Ultra Light Client for Mac OS 9.x is available
upon request.
