Dear Subscribers,
If you've been following The LINGUIST List Fund Drive, you know that
we still need $15,114 to reach our goal of $40,000. In other words, we
have received $24,886 from the generous persons and organizations
listed below. As you see from the donor list, our 2001 contributors
include publishers, who donate in return for our announcing their
linguistics publications, as well as institutions and organizations.
But our contributors also include many individuals from round the world.
And, speaking of individuals, you may like to know where our individual
subscribers come from. Currently, our combined lists, LINGUIST and
LINGLITE, have 13,600 subscribers, exclusive of those on the 49
redistribution lists which subscribe as single entities.
Less than half of our subscribers come from the USA. In fact,
LINGUIST subscribers come from no less than 102 different countries.
The country by country breakdown is as follows:

We are very proud to think that LINGUIST is serving linguists across
the world. But, of course, our services must be paid for by someone.
If you have not yet contributed, please do so now! As a 501(c)3
organization, LINGUIST qualifies for corporate donation-matching
programs; and, of course, your donation is tax deductible.
You can donate via our secure credit card form at
http://linguistlist.org/donation-form.html
or by sending your check to:
The LINGUIST Editorial Support Fund
Dept. of English
Eastern Michigan U.
Ypsilanti, MI
USA 48197
If you like, you can hit "Reply" and send us your pledge by email,
prior to sending your check. Then we will be able to list you
immediately as one of our donors; and we may be able to reach our fund
drive goal a bit earlier.
And remember, if your donation is $25 or over, you get a LINGUIST
T-shirt! For larger amounts, you may qualify for a long-sleeved shirt
or a sweatshirt. And new this year are baby T-shirts, size 2-4 years.
For styles, prices, and photos go to:
http://www.linguistlist.org/funddrive.html .
Don't forget to let us know your mailing address and what style and
size you would like!
And don't forget to find the "nging Pig' "n the LINGUIST Home Page and
click for our sophisticated production, "The LINGUIST Fund Drive
Experience"!
With sincere thanks for your continued support,
The LINGUIST Crew,
