UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA
DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICS

APPLIED LINGUISTICS LIMITED TERM POSITION

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Victoria invites
applications for an eight month Limited Term Appointment in Applied
Linguistics at the rank of assistant professor, starting September 01,
2001.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. in applied linguistics (or a
related field), a record of research publications and/or conference
presentations, and teaching experience at the university or community
college level.  The successful candidate will teach five courses,
including undergraduate courses in English grammar, TESL/TEFL theory
and methodology, and second language acquisition. He or she will be
involved in graduate student supervision and may teach a graduate
course. Experience in classroom-based SLA research is recommended
although not obligatory.


Deadline for application: 31 May 2001.
