Potential doctoral students should know that we have a new PhD program
here at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Applied Language
and Speech Sciences.
The program is based in the Department of Communicative Disorders
and, while it is partly aimed at qualified speech-language pathologists
seeking a doctoral qualification, we are also interested in students
from a theoretical or applied linguistics or phonetics/phonology
background.
Coursework is available in theoretical semiotics, advanced phonology,
language acquisition and phonetics, among others; and dissertation
supervision in a wide range of phonetic and linguistic topics.
Please see more details on our web site:
http://www.ucs.louisiana.edu/~jxo1721/Research/ALSSPhD.htm
Please note, funded assistantships are available in competition.
We are particularly keen to encourage international students.
