PhD-position at U Amsterdam
The Amsterdam Center for Language and Communication at the University
of Amsterdam offers a four-year research position at the PhD-level for
the project PARTS-OF-SPEECH SYSTEMS AND DEPENDENT VERB FORMS: A
TYPOLOGICAL STUDY. The project will be carried out at the Department
of Linguistics under the supervision of Prof Dr Kees Hengeveld.
The person appointed is expected to write a PhD thesis on the
aforementioned topic, and to teach part of a course in the second and
third year of appointment.
Apart from a salary which runs up from HFL 3159 (before taxes) in the
first year to HFL 4511 (before taxes) in the fourth year, the
candidate will be given the opportunity to participate in high-quality
PhD-courses at the national level.
Candidates should have a solid training in both language typology and
Functional Grammar at MA level, and should, apart from their CV,
submit a piece of written work demonstrating their qualities in these
areas when applying for the position.
