MSc in Developmental Linguistics
at the University of Edinburgh
We announce a new one-year MSc degree in Developmental
Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh. The programme is
based in the Department of Theoretical & Applied Linguistics
and draws on the world-class expertise in language research
at Edinburgh, principally in the Department of Theoretical
and Applied Linguistics, Department of Psychology, and the
Division of Informatics (incorporating the School of
Cognitive Science).
We invite applications from individuals with a good
undergraduate degree in linguistics, psychology or a related
subject. Our goal is to provide students with an advanced
understanding of current research on language acquisition
and language change from the perspectives of cognitive
psychology and linguistic theory. The programme also
provides methodological skills needed to conduct novel
research in these fields, and will be a valuable precursor to
PhD studies at Edinburgh or elsewhere.
