6th International Conference on Romani Linguistics
Descriptive and Applied Romani Linguistics
Graz, September 12-14 2002
at the European Centre for Modern Languages Nikolaiplatz 4, A-8020 Graz

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute presentations (plus 10 minutes
discussion). Papers will be chosen for presentation based on the
evaluation of an anonymous abstract by selected
reviewers. Presentations will be grouped in accordance with the
subtitle of the conference.  Abstracts should not exceed 400
words. They should be sent in two copies, one of them anonymous with
no indication of the author's name or affiliation, and one copy on
which the author's name, affiliation, and full contact details (mail
and email) appear.

Deadline for receipt of abstracts is May 15, 2002. Notification of
acceptance or rejection will be sent by the end of June 2002.
Registration fees will be approximately $25 for students and $50 for
non-students.  Participants from economically disadvantaged countries
won't be charged a registration fee.

Attempts will be made to at least partially subsidize travel expenses
and accommodation costs for participants from economically
disadvantaged countries; the extent of subsidy will not be known for

Second Call for Papers

Workshop on the Syntax, Semantics and Acquisition of Aspect
University of Iowa

To be held: May 24-26, 2002

Abstract deadline: March 1, 2002


Abstracts are invited for a small number of papers in a workshop on
the syntax, semantics and acquisition (first and second) of aspect
(lexical and grammatical). The workshop will include invited
participants as well as participants selected on the basis of
abstracts. Paper presentations will be 40-45 minutes in length; papers
will be circulated among participants three weeks prior to
workshop. Travel expenses for selected participants will be partially
reimbursed (up to $350 dollars).

Abstracts should be no longer than 2 pages in length, including data
and selected references, in a minimum size of 10-pt font. Send five
anonymous copies plus one 3 x 5index card with name, title of paper,
institutional affiliation, mailing address and phone, and e-mail
address to:
