Assistant Professor of Spanish (F-22)
Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish for Fall 2002 subject to
available funding. Specialist in Translation and Interpreting;
certificate desirable. Teaching experience in all levels of
translation and interpreting. Background in the teaching of Spanish
for native speakers a plus. Candidate is expected to engage in
scholarly and professional activities and to be actively involved in
departmental functions. Must be willing to teach evenings and
weekends. Recent successful experience with diverse, multi-ethnic
students desirable. Ph.D. in hand; demonstrated success in teaching
and scholarship. Excellent bilingual skills necessary; computer
expertise for interfacing with new programs helpful. Send letter of
application and complete dossier to Dr. Linda Gould Levine, Chair of
Spanish Search Committee. Screening begins immediately and continues
until position is filled.
