Linguistics at Monash (URL http://www.arts.monash.edu.au/ling/) seeks
to fill a continuing position to be taken up in February 2002 with a
person who has a dynamic research and teaching profile. We teach units
from first year to honours at undergraduate level, and have graduate
programs leading to Faculty Certificate, MA by coursework and/or by
research, and PhD by research alone. We offer units on four
campuses, by flexible delivery, distance education, and through Open
Learning. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a
share of administrative tasks within the program and/or School;
undertake supervision of research students; engage in original and
innovative research; be prepared to collaborate in research, team
teaching, and curriculum development; be competent to teach (all
delivery modes) in such areas as intercultural communication,
literacy, introductory linguistics, first and/or second language
acquisition, language and discrimination issues.
The Benefits: AU$52,881 - $62,797 p.a. Lecturer (Salary rates effective
from 1 January 2001)
