Assistant Professor - F-196. Tenure-track position, pending funding.
To teach courses in theoretical and applied linguistics (especially
sociolinguistics and TESOL methods) in a TESOL M.S. and certification
program. Supervision of Pre K-12 student teaching. Teach and develop
curriculum of undergraduate linguistics courses, such as Introduction
to Language and History of the English Language. May also teach ESOL
courses or Freshman Composition. Further responsibilities include
committee work, participation in conferences, and publication.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in linguistics with a strong background in
language teaching required, preferably with a master's degree in
TESOL. Desired areas of specialization: sociolinguistics; history of
English; TESOL methods. Evidence of publications and professional
activity in the field required. Credentials and/or experience
substantially comparable to the above may be considered.
