RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/FELLOW
Initial Salary within the range £20,267 - £25,203
A further vacancy has arisen for a software developer to join a team
of researchers working on innovative corpus linguistic applications
for the language and NLP communities. The post requires solid C/C++
and Perl programming skills, and knowledge of the nature of the
English Language. It will initially run for 2 years, relating
primarily to two EPSRC-funded projects concerning the extraction of
linguistic information from the World Wide Web
(http://www.webcorp.org.uk) and the retrieval of related documents
from textual databases. Experience in WWW programming, Unix tools,
CGI programming, information retrieval/search-engine technology, and
systems administration tasks under Solaris/Unix-style environments is
preferable.
