Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the
University of Houston-Downtown, beginning August 2002. Specialization
in linguistics, preferably with a focus on syntax, language
acquisition, ESL, morphology, sociolinguistics, and/or discourse
analysis. Teaching assignments will include undergraduate courses in
introductory linguistics, history of the English language, and English
grammar, and may include service courses in composition, rhetoric, or
professional writing. We especially welcome applicants interested in
promoting connections between linguistics and other disciplines.
Ph.D. in hand by time of appointment preferred. Application deadline
for preliminary interviews at LSA or MLA is 15 November. Send letter,
