CALL FOR PAPERS
Abstracts are invited for 20-minute papers (plus ten minutes
discussion) and for posters on the theme of the conference, the role
of contrast in phonology. Abstracts on the special theme, The Role of
Perception in the Acquisition and Maintenance of Contrast, are
especially welcome.
Abstracts
- One page maximum (examples and references can be on a second page)
- Include name(s) and affiliations of author(s), e-mail address to which
correspondence should be addressed, snail-mail address, student status
- Indicate whether the abstract is to be considered for the main session,
the poster session, or whether you would like it to be considered for both
sessions.
- An award will be given for the outstanding student abstract.
- Abstracts must be submitted electronically to contrast at chass.utoronto.ca
(pdf or Word attachments only).

Priere d'envoyer des resumes pour une communication orale de
20mn (plus une periode de questions de 10 mn) ou pour une seance
d'affichage portant sur l'un ou l'autre aspect du colloque. Les
resumes pour le theme special, le role de la perception dans
l'acquisition et la preservation des contrastes, sont
particulerement les bienvenus.
Resumes:
- Une page maximum (les exemples et la bibliographie peuvent etre
sur une deuxieme page).
- Inclure le(s) nom(s) et affiliation(s) de chaque auteur, l'adresse
electronique et postale ou la correspondance sera acheminee, le statut
(etudiant, enseignant, etc.).
- Preciser si le resume devrait etre evalue pour la session
principale, la seance d'affichage ou les deux.
- Un prix recompensera le meilleur resume soumis par un(e) etudiant(e).

Second Call for Papers
We invite anonymous abstracts for twenty-minute talks in any area of formal
linguistics. Abstracts must not exceed one page in length (11 point font, 1
inch margins). A second page is allowed for data and references. Authors may
submit at most one individual and one joint abstract. Joint abstracts should
designate one address for communication with WCCFL 21.
Abstracts must be submitted in one of the following formats:
plain-text e-mail (preferred)
post-script attachment (must be viewable with Ghostscript)
hardcopy
No other formats will be accepted. As noted, electronic submission in
plain-text format is strongly preferred; a key can be provided for special
characters (e.g., "the lambda operator is \"). Attachments that cannot be
viewed using Ghostscript will be treated as not delivered.
Electronic submissions should be sent to the WCCFL 21 e-mail address:

Please use 'Abstract' as the Subject header and include, below the abstract,
the information in (1) - (6), which should constitute the body of the
message if the abstract is a .ps attachment.
