The department of Spanish and Portuguese at the university of Toronto
invites applications for the following tenure-track position in
Hispanic linguistics and language at the Assistant or Associate
Professor level, effective 1 July 2002.

Required: PhD in Spanish or Linguistics; publications and clear
promise of future scholarly development in phonology, second-language
phonology, or historical linguistics; evidence of excellence in
teaching; willingness to develop and supervise introductory courses in
the Spanish language sequence; native or near-native proficiency in
Spanish and English.  Interest in second-language pedagogy and
instructional technology is an asset.  Salary will be commensurate
with qualifications and experience.
