The University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, announces a
tenure-track position (assistant professor) beginning in August for a
specialist in General English Language Linguistics and/or Applied
Linguistics to teach undergraduate courses in Introductory
Linguistics, Basic and Advanced Grammar, Phonetics and Phonemics, and
Research Methods; graduate courses in Language Acquisition, Language
and Culture; and/or other basic and specialized linguistics
courses. Candidates must also be willing to teach ESL courses, serve
as thesis advisor, do research, and publish. Interest in participating
in curriculum design, administration, and/or direction of the ESL
program is a definite plus.
A Ph.D. in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics required. Knowledge of
Spanish is desirable but not required at the time of the initial
contract. Teaching load of 12 credits per semester, competitive
