Tilburg University is a modern, specialized university in the field of
the social sciences, with more than 9,000 students and more than 1,600
staff. The education and research at the university meet nationally
recognized high standards.
In its education and research, the Arts Faculty addresses the
following fields of interest: text linguistics and communication,
professional communication and digital media, linguistics and
artificial intelligence, literary studies and consumer behaviour with
respect to literature. The faculty participates in the
inter-university Research Institute Centre for Language Studies, and
is associated with the National Research School of Linguistics, the
Research School of Logic, and the Research School of Literary
Studies. Characteristics of the faculty are its small scale, its
social orientation, and the high quality of its education and
research.
The faculty has a vacancy for a full-time:
Ph.D. student for the project "Synchronic register variation in mono-
and bilingual Turkish"

Babylon, Center for studies of Multilingualism in the multicultural
Society offers a 4-year position for a Ph.D. student as part of the
project "Synchronic register variation in mono- and bilingual
Turkish". The project focuses on variation in Turkish as it is spoken
in Turkey and by the bilingual immigrant community in Holland. Tasks
consist of building up a corpus of natural spoken Turkish, and
analyzing selected aspects, in close cooperation with the principal
investigator and a research assistant.
Candidates must have a sound knowledge of Turkish and possess a
Masters diploma that testifies to an affinity with the fields of
sociolinguistics and/or corpus linguistics. For further information or

The collective labour agreement of Tilburg University applies. You
will have a 4-year contract. The starting salary is 1551 euro gross
per month which will mount to 2103 euro gross in the 4th. year for
