New Dissertation Abstract

Program: Linguistics
Dissertation Status: Completed
Degree Date: 1996
Author: Bok-Ja Cheon-Kostrzewa
Dissertation Title:
Der Erwerb der Deutschen Modalpartikeln
Linguistic Field: Syntax, General Linguistics
Subject Language: German
Dissertation Director 1: Norbert Dittmar
Dissertation Director 2: Bernd Kielhoefer
Dissertation Abstract:
The research in the field of modal particles has been vastly neglected
over the years. Only when oral communication became the focus of
linguistic analyses did modal particles receive the attention they
deserve. In the following dissertation the acquisition of German modal
particles by Polish learners is described on the basis of authentic
material. Thus sequences of acquisition can be depicted and advice on
the teaching of modal particles can be given.
