LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER/READER IN LINGUISTICS
Applications are invited for the above post. It is anticipated that
the post will be filled by an appointment on the Lecturer B scale;
however, if the successful applicant has an established record as an
international researcher, the post will be filled at the Senior
Lecturer or Reader level.
Candidates should be active in research in syntax and must be able to
teach syntactic theory at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
and to undertake postgraduate research supervision in syntax. The
successful applicant will have a PhD and preference will be given to
candidates who are able to offer teaching and research expertise in
one or more of the following areas: semantics, language variation and
change, applied linguistics, psycholinguistics, one of the languages
taught in the department (English, French and German).
Salary will be within the Lecturer B salary scale, currently £25,455
- £32,537 per annum (pay award pending), for those applying for the
post at Lecture B level, and £34,158 - £38,603 for those applying for
the post at Senior Lecturer/Reader level. Candidates should indicate
