Description:
The Department of English, CSU Dominguez Hills, invites applications
for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant
Professor of English, commencing August, 2003.
Minimum Qualifications: ABD in Applied Linguistics, with two years of
teaching experience at the university level. The Ph.D. must be
completed by the end of the first academic year of appointment (on or
about May 25, 2004); continued employment is contingent on completion
of the Ph.D. by this date.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics; experience in
teaching upper-division and graduate courses in ESL pedagogy.
Primary Duties: The successful applicant will teach graduate and
undergraduate courses such as, but not exclusively: TESOL Methodology;
Teaching Language and Literature in the ESL Context; Pedagogical
Grammar for TESOL; Introduction to Second Language Learning and
Teaching; and Linguistic Analysis. The successful applicant will also
participate in the direction of M.A. theses and departmental committee
work.
