The Research Group Knowledge Management at the University of Karlsruhe
seeks applicants for a
Ph.D. Position
available for the EU-IST funded project Dot.Kom (Designing adaptive
information extraction from text for Knowledge Management). Further
information about the project is available at
http://www.aifb.uni-karlsruhe.de/Allgemeines/Stellenmarkt/WBS/ontoweb-stelle.htm
The project start is October 2002.
The prospective student is expected to hold a master's degree or
equivalent degree (e.g. German diploma), preferably with experiences
in AI and/or computational linguistics.
The salary amounts to German BAT IIa (which is roughly 35.000 Euro
gross income per year depending on age and marital status). Basic
knowledge of the German language is a prerequisite.
The project will address the application of information extraction in
various knowledge management systems based on work on ontologies and
semantic annotation performed in related projects (
http://www.ontoknowledge.org/ , http://www-db.stanford.edu/Ontoagents/
and http://annotation.semanticweb.org ).
Potential candidates may find more detailed information at
