Subject:  Bibliography on English verbs

I'm planning a small research project on the teaching and learning of
English verbs and would focus on the ''verbs of saying'' such as
''say'', ''talk'', ''tell'' and ''speak''. The context influencing the
choice of these verbs would be investigated. Please provide references
relevant to this type of verbs and the study of contextual influences
on lexical choice.

Subject:  High rising tone in British English

I am just beginning a PhD on intonation. I'm investigating the high
rising tone in British English. There have been various studies on
Australian, New Zealand and American high rising tones but I have yet
to find anyone working on the high rising tone in British English.

I would like to know if anyone is currently working on British high
rising tones or if anyone is aware of any past research on the
subject.
