We are pleased to announce that the Field research group of the

International Conference on Computational Linguistics (August
24-September 1, 2002).

For the past three years the Field research group of the Institute of
Linguistics has been holding annual seminars and workshops to promote
academic exchange and enhance the cooperation between different
institutions. This year, we are intending to draw the attention of
linguists in Taiwan on the Mongolic (Mongolian) languages and hope to
inspire a new generation of students.

The workshop will consist of approximately 12 talks of 30 minutes
each, followed by 20 minutes of discussion. We invite abstract
submissions dealing with any Mongolic (Mongolian) language in any area
of linguistics from any theoretical perspective, with a preference
given to descriptive works on less well documented languages/dialects
and theoretical works on a special language based on fieldwork data.
