We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Dear native speakers of Tamil,
We are a typological research project studying words for body parts in
a large sample of languages and we are currently collecting data in
Tamil. Since the word lists and dictionaries give us quite
inconsistent information we urgently need Tamil speakers who can help
us with their intuition. Could you please tell us what the unmarked
expressions of the body part terms listed below are in modern everyday
Tamil?
We look forward to hearing from you,
Reinhild Steinberg and Wiltrud Mihatsch

I am doing research into the acquisition of pragmatics by second
language learners.
I am compiling a list of video (movie) sources which contain scenes of
teachers and students interacting (e.g. "Stand And
Deliver"). Suggestions about potential additions to my list, or
previously compiled lists would be appreciated.
