The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Linguistics, invites
applications for a Visiting Associate or Full Professor beginning in
the Fall Term 2002.  This is a one-year non-tenure stream appointment,
renewable for up to five years.  Applicants must have a solid training
in linguistic description and analysis in Hispanic linguistics, as
well as competence in one or more of the following areas: American
Indian Languages, bilingualism, sociolinguistics, first language
acquisition, or a specialization that complements the current research
profile of the department. Preference will be given to candidates with
language breadth and/or expertise in computational or quantitative
methodologies, and a solid track-record directing doctoral
dissertations.

applicable), a statement of research and teaching interests, copies of
2 reprints or other written work, teaching evaluations (required). The
