''Und ich so'' often occurs in storytelling, paired with some kind of
gesture or vocal sound effect ''turning the quote into an enactment or
performance'' (Golato, 2000, pg.31). A couple respondents have
suggested that this quotative is becoming acceptable to use in other
environments. While ''und ich so'' is most often attributed to
teenagers, Golato's study found evidence of this quotatives use by
college-age speakers and those from thirty to fifty years of age.
