Subject: Semantics: PhD Studentship at U of Groningen, Netherlands
The Center for Language and Cognition Groningen (CLCG) within the
Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen (Netherlands) currently
has an opening for a PhD student (AIO) for the project "The effects of
sentential stress on the interpretation of coordination". This project
is part of the larger project "Optimization in coordination", which is
funded by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
The PhD project in combination with the PhD training programme should
result in a PhD thesis within a period of four years.
Qualifications:
- you have completed a masters in Linguistics, Psychology of Language,
or comparable degree
- you have written an excellent thesis, preferably on a theme related
to the current project
- you have some background in, or a clear affinity with, linguistic
experimentation
- you have excellent writing skills
- you have demonstrated methodological and analytical skills
The University of Groningen offers a salary beginning at 1,445 euro
gross per month in the first year and rising to 2,063 euro gross in
the last year, for a full-time employment. PhD students receive a
contract for one year extendable for three further years subject to
evaluation after one year.
