We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Subject: Re: Mac fonts for basic EFL teaching purposes
I am a teacher of English as a foreign language and what I am looking
for is a font for Macintosh computers that will give me all the basic
phonetic symbols that are generally used for teaching the
pronunciation of English to foreign students. The symbols used are
from the international phonetic alphabet but they are not very many
(about 22 vowel sounds and 25 consonant sounds). The only fonts that I
can find on the internet are far more complete than I need and,
consequently, quite confusing for me as I am not a linguist!
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Tony Lawson.
