Dear Linguist,

I'm the coordinator for the linguistics division of the British
Association for Slavonic and East European Studies conference, and I
posted our original CFP for the 2004 conference this May (Linguist
14.1255).

Yesterday's issue of the digest carried a posting from someone
unaffiliated to BASEES (Linguist 14.2179) that on casual reading
suggests the theme of the conference has been changed to discourse
strategies in Russian children's stories about frogs.

I suspect this is a mistaken attempt by someone to send us an abstract
on his own personal research topic, which has found its way onto the
list.  Although we might under the correct conditions welcome a paper
on this topic, the conference continues to have a wider remit: papers
on any area of linguistics and pedagogical studies, including
dialectology, generative linguistics, sociolinguistics, instructional
technology and translation are welcome, as always.

For more information, including how to submit an abstract, see our
original post (Linguist 14.1255).  The deadline for abstracts is still 1
October 2003.  Frogs are, and always have been, strictly optional.
