Meeting Description:
The 2nd Mikola Conference will be held in September 2-3, 2004, at the
University of Szeged (Hungary).
The aim of the conference is to pay a tribute to Prof Tibor Mikola
(1936-2000) from time to time he was the head of the Finno-Ugric
Department of the Szeged University from 1974 to his death. Normally,
it takes place once every three years at the University of Szeged, in
Hungary. The first conference was held in January, 2001. The central
topic is always determined by the Department of Finno-Ugric Studies.
The central topic of the next conference is Samoyedic languages and
culture, namely:
Morphologic, syntactic and semantic word-classes
Tense and aspect
Syntactic structures
Folklore
There will be 30-40 minute talks by invited speakers followed by 20
minute discussions. The languages of the conference will be English,
German, and Russian.
If you want to participate in our meeting, please write a short letter
to the following address, or an email to the contact person. Tuition
fee: 5.000 HUF / 20 Euro.
