Subject: Mobility Grants for PhD Students, Universitat Pompeu Fabra
Mobility grants (''Ayudas de movilidad'') for PhD students.
PhD program ''Multilingual Communication: Studies in Translation,
Literature, and Linguistics'', Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.
Students enrolled in this program may apply for mobility grants
(''Ayudas de movilidad'') offered by the Spanish Ministry of
Education. Each grant pays for the following maximum amounts:
1) for travel expenses: within Spain, 300 - within the European Union,
510 - from other countries, 980
2) for accommodation expenses: 3.925
PROGRAM DIRECTORS: Alex Alsina and Marcel Ortín
HIGH QUALITY DISTINCTION: This program has been awarded the ''Mención
de calidad'' (High Quality Distinction) by the Spanish Ministry of
Education for the year 2003, which enables students to apply for
mobility grants.
RESEARCH LINES IN THE PROGRAM:
1. Literature (comparative literature, reception, literary
translation)
2. Translation (translation studies, translation and discourse,
audiovisual translation, literary translation)
3. Discourse (oral and written communication, social and
specialized discourses, translation and discourse)
4. Acquisition and learning (second language acquisition, language
learning)
5. Formal linguistics (linguistic theory, language description and
contrast, computer processing of language)

Linguistics, Philology and related disciplines.
