Description:
Bowne Global Solutions, the leading provider of outsourced
globalization solutions, has an immediate opening in its R&D division
for the following full-time position:
Machine Translation Software Development Group
Computational Linguist/Lexicographer
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and augmentation of machine-readable dictionaries.
- Maintenance and augmentation of machine-readable grammar rules and
parse trees.
- Development and maintenance of tools for automation/support of
linguistic tasks.
- Technical evaluation, specification, development, and engineering
support for new MT/NLP algorithms, components and interfaces.
- Linguistic evaluation and analysis of machine translation output.
- Quality assurance testing of machine translation systems.
Required Skills:
- M.A. in Computational Linguistics <OR> M.A. or B.A. in Linguistics
and 2+ years experience in an NLP industry
- Programming Experience (Perl, C, C++ preferred)
- Fluency in English
Additional Skills Desired:
- Fluency in Spanish (strongly preferred)
- Emacs Skills
- Microsoft Windows
Other:
- Some travel may be required.
