The above posts are available for 3 years on a BBSRC-funded project
working with Dr Gareth Gaskell and Dr Philip Quinlan. The research
will investigate the levels of processing involved in speech
perception and the interaction between language use and attentional
demands. Both posts will be involved in planning, executing and
analysing experiments using a variety of experimental methods.
Applicants for the Research Fellow post should have a PhD in a
relevant area, and a demonstrated ability to design and analyse
cognitive psychology experiments. You will be expected to present
research findings at conferences and publish them in high quality
journals.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have a good
undergraduate degree in psychology or a related area, and a general
interest in cognitive psychology. There may be the possibility for
part-time post-graduate study.
Experience of spreadsheets, speech editing software, statistical
applications and experimental software will be of benefit for both
posts. The starting date is flexible, but is likely to be no later
than 1st September 2003.
Research Fellow salary £20,311 per annum. Salary within the range pro
rata to £18,265 - £20,311 per annum for the Part-time Research
Assistant.
Experience of spreadsheets, speech editing software, statistical
applications and experimental software would be desirable. The
starting date is flexible, but is likely to be no later than 1st
September 2003.
