Description:
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at The University
of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor position in French and Spanish starting Fall 2004.
Responsibilities: Teaching a variety of courses in the French and
Spanish programs either at the UTSA Downtown Campus or the 1604 Campus
and occasionally at night, leadership in development of the French
program, coordination of language instruction in French and Spanish.
Required qualifications: University or college teaching experience,
native or near-native ability in French and/or Spanish, Ph.D. by May
31, 2004.
Preferred qualifications: Specialization in linguistics, experience
with Spanish for Heritage Speakers, research record or demonstrated
research potential commensurate with experience.
Applicants must submit application letter, current CV, unofficial
transcripts of graduate studies, and three letters of recommendation
to Dr. Marita Nummikoski, Chair, Dept. of Modern Languages and

begin December 1, 2003 and continue until the position is filled.
