Description:
Tenure track position in Linguistics to begin Fall 2004. Teaching
responsibilities include courses in Introduction to Linguistics,
Modern English Grammar, Phonetics and Phonology, English Syntax, and
special topics in support of a program oriented toward Applied
Linguistics, especially TESL. The English Department offers
undergraduate and M.A. concentrations in both linguistics and ESL, and
a Ph.D. concentration in Applied Linguistics.
The ideal candidate will have Ph.D. in hand no later than Fall 2004
and show clear evidence of potential as a teacher and scholar.
Research area is open, but willingness to work in a program that
values Applied Linguistics is essential. Send letter of application,
current CV, copies of transcripts, writing sample, and three letters
of recommendation (or a dossier that includes them). Screening will
begin November 12, and may continue until position is filled.
Interviews will be conducted at LSA, January 9-11, 2004, in Boston.
