Assistant Professor in Chinese Linguistics at the University at
Buffalo
The Department of Linguistics at the University at Buffalo seeks to
fill a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank; it will
begin September 1, 2004. The position is for a specialist in Chinese
linguistics to head the program in Chinese language at UB.
The successful candidate will have native or near-native competence in
Mandarin Chinese, will have experience teaching Mandarin as a foreign
language at the university level, and will have a Ph.D. in Linguistics
or Chinese Linguistics; the exact research specialization within
(Chinese) Linguistics is open. The primary teaching responsibilities
associated with the position are courses in Mandarin and an
introductory course in Chinese linguistics or a course in linguistics.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and supervise the
Chinese language program.
Review of applications will begin October 15, 2003, applications will
be accepted until position is filled. Applicants should send CV,
