We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.
To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at
http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

Subject: coda restrictions
Dear colleagues,
I am looking for languages with the following (or similar) peculiar
coda restrictions:
- word-finally, only nasals are possible codas
- word-internally, only nasals and /r/ are possible codas, with the latter
only occurring before /k/ (ar.ki)
I'd also be very grateful for any comments or references on this (or a
similar) phenomenon, and will provide a summary for the list.
Many thanks in advance.
Ingo Plag

Subject: French corpus for summarization evaluation
I am doing a PhD thesis on automatic summarization of French texts. I
need French texts to submit to the summarization system being tested,
for examples news articles. I would like those texts to be
accompagnied by short summaries, if possible. Has anyone heard of a
French corpus available for research purposes?
