Dear Subscribers,
Today your donations have "funded" another one of our crew members--
Publications Manager Marisa Ferrara. As each on of our crew members is
funded, we will post their personal letter so that you can see where
your donations go! Below is Marisa's letter.

Dear LINGUIST List Subscribers,
My name is Marisa Ferrara and I am currently in my second year of
working for LINGUIST List. Therefore, in a somewhat short amount of
time I have gone from being LINGUIST's newest editor to becoming an
aged veteran. I have also gone from being a mere books editor
underling to becoming the publications manager with an underling or
two of my own (but don't tell them that). So, after a somewhat swift
turn of events I find myself writing my second letter to you enlisting
your support for the wonderful LINGUIST List cause (and I can ensure
you that each of our student editors feels it to be just that).
Working on LINGUIST List has become for me one of the most important
and defining periods of my life, and I owe a great amount of gratitude
to each of you who support LINGUIST List and my studies. The LINGUIST
List is comprised of such a wonderful, fun, and caring group of people
that it is truly set apart from many other graduate assistant
positions. Also, it is easy to see that the work we do benefits a
multitude of people, making every day I come to work important.
I truly love working for the LINGUIST List, and if it weren't for
supporters such as you this opportunity would have never been given to
me. The wonderful thing about supporting is that you are assured that
your donation goes to a great cause and helps to support one of our
graduate assistants -- each of whom is incredibly qualified and worthy
of the support. So please, please give to the LINGUIST List support
fund. For many of us, it means continuing an education that may never
have been possible!
Thank you,
Marisa

Subject: How to Donate...
This Year the LINGUIST List hope to raise $60,000. This money will go
to help keep the List running, by supporting all of our Student Editors
for the coming year.
There are many ways to donate to LINGUIST!
You can donate right now using our secure credit card form, at:
http://www.linguistlist.org/donate.html
You can also pledge right now and pay later, at:
http://www.linguistlist.org/pledge.html
For all information on donating, including information on how to
donate by check, money order, or wire transfer, please visit:
http://www.linguistlist.org/donation.html
ALREADY PLEDGED?
If you have already pledged to LINGUIST and would now like to pay
by credit card, please go to:
http://linguistlist.org/creditcard-general.html
and select 'PAY PREVIOUS PLEDGE' as the Type of Payment from the
dropdown list provided.
The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University
and as such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is
a registered 501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number
is 38-6005986. These donations can be offset against your federal and
sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more
information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will
match any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this
entails your contacting your human resources department and sending us
a form that the EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer.
This is generally a simple administrative procedure that doubles the
value of your gift to LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny.
Please take a moment to check if your company operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
