We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

I'm a current undergraduate student from Federal University of Minas
Gerais (Brazil), pursuing a research on Cognitive Grammar. The topic
of my research (it is Final-Course Paper) is the extent to which
phonological structures are to be considered conceptual in the sense
stated by Ron Langacker in his Foundations of Cognitive
Grammar. Through this investigation of the ''conceptualness'' of the
phonological pole, I want to shed light towards the incorporation of
Phonology withing the framework of CG and also start thinking about a
supposed Cognitive Phonology. The literature is this area is rather
sparse, though. So, I'd be glad if I get from here, interesting
bibliography as well as interesting insights over this topic, so that
I'll be able to outline better my final course paper.

Best,

Dear all,

I am looking for experiments/theoretical essays that have been done
using or examining the ''comic book medium'' (i.e. sequential images
with or without accompanying text). Generally, I am interested in
works pertaining directly to the visual components or their multimodal
connection to written words, though any and all sources will be
greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
