Description:
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
· Review a large text-to-speech American English lexicon for proper
pronunciation.
· Manipulate phonetic transcriptions using a variant of the
International Phonetic Alphabet.
· Further optimize pronunciations by manipulating data strings in a
graphical user interface.
· Isolate and identify bugs, log and maintain bug reports in bug
databases.
· Work closely with other product team members to deliver high quality
LeapFrog products.
· Document test methods by writing detailed test scripts and cases.
· Daily interaction with bug tracking software is required along with
regression of fixed bugs.
· Interaction with Audio and Software Teams is expected on a frequent
basis including writing daily progress reports.

Knowledge & Skills:
· Fluent English Speaker
· Familiarity with Phonetic Alphabets
· Software Quality Assurance (S.Q.A) is a plus.
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Proficient with Windows.
· Knowledge of the interactive development process preferred.
· Excellent trouble-shooting skills
· Basic programming knowledge is a plus.
Education & Training:
B.A. in Linguistics or in English with Linguistics Coursework.
Related work experience is also acceptable.
Work Experience:
Any experience with Text-to-Speech, Natural Language Applications, and
large database management is a plus.
