Assistant Professor of Chinese
The George Washington University
The Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at The George
Washington University invites applications for a full-time Assistant
Professor position in Chinese for a three-year period, academic years
2004-2007, with the possibility of renewal. Qualified candidates
should be able to teach all levels of Chinese language. The successful
candidate will oversee and invigorate Chinese language instruction and
work with newly created Language Center at GW. Expected teaching load
is 3 + 3 semester courses or equivalent per year including language
courses and courses in her/his own area of specialization in a program
that offers both majors and minors in Chinese Language and Literature.
Applicants must have native or near-native command of both Chinese and
English and with advanced degrees in hand or within one year of
appointment.
